MATEUS, O APÓSTOLO IMPROVÁVEL

Resumo

O primeiro livro do Novo Testamento conhecido como o Evangelho segundo Mateus é atribuído a um homem cuja profissão e posição na sociedade de então o classificaria como improvável, como um absurdo para os padrões de sua época. Um publicano era odiado pelos judeus e o problema se agrava ainda mais ao notar que o público alvo era exatamente o que o odiava. O presente artigo faz uma abordagem geral sobre o autor, sua profissão, seu ministério e sua obra, considerando a classificação do conteúdo, suas subdivisões, o material exclusivo, discute a questão da autenticidade do Evangelho, testemunhos históricos entre outros aspectos relevantes. Ressalta os diversos testemunhos históricos dos pais da Igreja que afirmam que houve um escrito inicial de Mateus em hebraico ou aramaico antes da versão final em grego que é utilizada na Bíblia, além de discutir brevemente a primazia de Mateus em contraposição aos teóricos que defendem a primazia e dependência de Marcos. Ressalta as principais características do conteúdo do Evangelho com ênfase no cumprimento das profecias do Antigo Testamento, genealogia, o reino dos céus, a escatologia, entre outros.

Abstract: The first book in the New Testament known as the Gospel according to Matthew is attributed to a man whose profession and position in society at the time would classify him as improbable, as absurd by the standards of his day. A publican was hated by the Jews, and the problem is further aggravated by noticing which target audience was exactly what hated him. This article makes a general approach about the author, his profession, his ministry and his work, considering the classification of the content, its subdivisions, the exclusive material, discusses the issue of the authenticity of the Gospel, historical testimonies, acceptance in the canon, among other aspects. relevant. It highlights the various historical testimonies of the Church Fathers who claim that there was an initial writing of Matthew in Hebrew or Aramaic before the final Greek version that is used in the Bible, as well as briefly discussing the primacy of Matthew in opposition to theorists who defend the primacy and dependence on Mark. It highlights the main characteristics of the content of the Gospel with an emphasis on the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies, genealogy, the kingdom of heaven, eschatology, among others.
