Resumo

O presente artigo abordou a trajetória de Gladys Aylward, uma jovem britânica que, apesar de suas limitações educacionais, financeiras e das rejeições que enfrentou, não desistiu. Com persistência, fé e determinação, prosseguiu em seu chamado missionário na China. Em Yangcheng, colaborou com a missionária Jeannie Lawson, fundando um abrigo para muleteiros e imergindo na cultura local. Após a morte de Lawson, Gladys assumiu a liderança em várias iniciativas, incluindo a luta contra o enfaixamento dos pés femininos. Durante a Segunda Guerra Sino-Japonesa, dedicou-se a cuidar de crianças órfãs, exemplificando sua fé inabalável e coragem diante das adversidades. Abstract: This article addressed the trajectory of Gladys Aylward, a young British woman who, despite her educational and financial limitations and the rejections she faced, did not give up. With persistence, faith and determination, he continued his missionary call in China. In Yangcheng, he collaborated with missionary Jeannie Lawson, founding a shelter for muleteers and immersing himself in the local culture. After Lawson's death, Gladys took leadership in several initiatives, including the fight against women's foot binding. During the Second Sino-Japanese War, he dedicated himself to caring for orphaned children, exemplifying his unshakable faith and courage in the face of adversity.
