UM CÂNTICO DE FÉ: UMA ANÁLISE DO CAPÍTULO 3 DE HABACUQUE

Resumo

Habacuque, além de ser um profeta pouco conhecido, é único no sentido de que o seu livro não é um chamado de atenção ao povo, mas sim um clamor a Yavé, por misericórdia para com Judá, perante as ameaças eminentes por parte do império Babilônico. Por outro lado, o seu cântico, no capítulo 3, reflete o reconhecimento do agir de Yavé na história, e a certeza de que o justo viverá pela fé (2.4), mesmo que esteja enfrentando condições de grande dificuldade. Nesse contexto, o capítulo 3 assume papel singular, configurando-se como um cântico ou salmo que expressa a resposta final do profeta às revelações divinas recebidas ao longo do livro. Este cântico reflete, de maneira poética e litúrgica, a memória do agir histórico de Yavé, especialmente em sua atuação criadora, redentora e guerreira, ao mesmo tempo em que reafirma a convicção teológica central do livro: “o justo viverá pela sua fé” (Hc 2.4). Mesmo diante de cenários de extrema adversidade, escassez e instabilidade, Habacuque professa uma fé madura, que não nega a realidade do sofrimento, mas encontra em Deus a fonte última de salvação, força e esperança. Assim, neste artigo propôs-se uma análise exegética de Habacuque 3, considerando seus elementos literários, teológicos e históricos, a fim de demonstrar como o cântico funciona como culminação do livro, revelando a transformação do lamento em confiança e do questionamento em adoração.

A Song of Faith: an analysis of chapter 3 of Habakkuk

Abstract: Habakkuk, besides being a little-known prophet, is unique in that his book is not a call to the people's attention, but rather a cry to Yahweh for mercy for Judah in the face of imminent threats from the Babylonian empire. On the other hand, his song in chapter 3 reflects the recognition of Yahweh's action in history, and also the certainty that the righteous will live by faith (2:4), even when facing conditions of great difficulty. In this context, chapter 3 assumes a unique role, configuring itself as a song or psalm that expresses the prophet's final response to the divine revelations received throughout the book. This song reflects, in a poetic and liturgical way, the memory of Yahweh's historical actions, especially in his creative, redemptive, and warlike roles, while reaffirming the central theological conviction of the book: "the righteous will live by their faith" (Hab 2:4). Even in the face of extreme adversity, scarcity, and instability, Habakkuk professes a mature faith that does not deny the reality of suffering but finds in God the ultimate source of salvation, strength, and hope. Thus, this article proposes an exegetical analysis of Habakkuk 3, considering its literary, theological, and historical elements, in order to demonstrate how the song functions as the culmination of the book, revealing the transformation of lament into trust and questioning into worship.
