OBEDIÊNCIA E DESOBEDIÊNCIA DO POVO DE ISRAEL NOS LIVROS HISTÓRICOS

Resumo

Obediência e desobediência do povo de Israel nos livros históricos. A desobediência traz consequências e desastres, enquanto a obediência a Deus traz bênçãos. Isso é claramente demonstrado e observado nos livros históricos do Antigo testamento: ciclo dos juízes e histórias dos reis de Israel e Judá. Foram analisados as causas e os motivos das mudanças no relacionamento dos israelitas com o Senhor Deus, assim como suas consequências que perduram até hoje. É possível examinar diferentes casos entre o povo: Josué e os bons reis são apresentados como exemplos de obediência e que conduziram grande parte do povo à uma vida consagrada a Deus; enquanto muitos juízes e reis são exemplos de desobediência, acarretando numa nação idólatra, politeísta e, consequentemente, afastada do Senhor. Este trabalho demonstrou o contexto histórico e teológico no período dos juízes e da monarquia, ademais, citou exemplos bons e ruins entre o povo de Deus, por conseguinte suas causas e consequências; e por último, foi feita uma análise comparativa de uma vida de obediência contra uma vida de desobediência ao Senhor.

Obedience and disobedience of Israel’s people in the historical books

Abstract: Obedience and disobedience of Israel’s people in the historical books. Disobedience brings consequences and disasters, while obedience to God brings blessings. This is clearly demonstrated and observed in the historical books of the Old Testament: the cycle of judges and the stories of the kings of Israel and Judah. The causes and reasons for the changes in the relationship of the Israelites with the Lord God will be analyzed, as well as their consequences that endure to this day. It is possible to examine different cases among the people: Joshua and the good kings are presented as examples of obedience and leading much of the people to a life devoted to God; while many judges and kings are examples of disobedience, resulting in an idolatrous, polytheistic nation, and consequently, apart from the Lord. This work aims to show the historical and theological context in the period of the judges and the monarchy, furthermore, it cites good and bad examples among the people of God, hence their causes and consequences; and finally, a comparative analysis of a life of obeying versus a life of disobeying the Lord.
